The New Blood festival 2018 was great success with lots of interest from the advertising industry in our fabulous students. Internships and hopefully jobs were offered by some of London’s leading agencies including Mother, Karmarama, Ogilvy and Proximity. Well done to all of them, and a big thank you to Jen & Ellie, who designed the stand.
Lots of lovely people came to see us and look at the work. Here’s Gail and Sabina with Andy and Nicola from Ogilvy and Sam Ball – creative consultant and an ex-bucks student too!
Ex-student, Tommy Lai, comes to see us all the way from RG/A in Singapore
one completed stand – well done, Jen & Ellie, for designing it!
It was great to see Kat and Kinga win a Graphite pencil at the D&AD New Blood awards this week – a big congratulations to them both! There entry ‘Run For Your Life’ was in the Adidas category – you can see the full campaign here https://www.dandad.org/awards/new-blood/2018/adidas/3222/run-for-your-life/
Well done Kat and Kinga!
The Run For Your Life campaign for Adidas
The graduating third years put on a show at Bucks and then took it to London, where we were hosted by the lovely people at Isobel.
Family and friends came to Bucks, whilst Isobel was the ‘industry’ show. At Isobel we had a fantastic turn out – with agency people (including lots of out grads) from agencies and companies such as Iris, BBH, Y&R, WCRS, Portas, Kindred, Haygarth, WDMP, Stink, Now, Brothers & Sisters, Weber Shandwick, The Brooklyn Brothers, TMW, Keko, The Talent Business and many more…
A big thank you the families and friends, who came and supported our wonderful students at the Bucks degree show.
The 3rd years all ready to go with their ‘moving out’ show
The first years had a brilliant experience at Adam&eveDDB with Creative Director, Simon Lloyd. They had been working on a conceptual brief for Sunsilk set by him two weeks ago. They showed some excellent solutions to Simon, who was totally impressed by the progress made by the students since starting on the course 2 months ago. Well done to you all!
Simon showing us around the agency – we’d love to work here!
The Workshop Awards is over for 3rd Year Students at Bucks! We want to say a massive Thankyou to Jack and Stacey at 4Creative, Gina and Freya at WCRS and Sarah and Elliot (and Florence!) at Mr President! We can’t wait to find out who will win them as mentors.
We all really enjoyed the different briefs!
From generating quick strategies, to making something outrageous.
I think every single student learnt something valuable these last two weeks!
I know I certainly did, now with the semester ending, I want to make my work more engaging, digging deeper for strategies and inisights, then executing by triggering a human emotion.
We’ve all got something to work on for the future and to put in our books!
Exciting times are ahead as we discover who gets mentors and who their mentors will be! Stay tuned!
Waiting for the day to commence in Channel 4’s fab offices
Jack & Stacey choose the winners…
Following a weekl-ong intense conceptual week, all the 3rd year students went in to see Stu Outhwaite-Noel at Creature today and had 1-2-1’s with him about the two brands they wanted to put into their books. For Stu, he wanted us to dig deep on strategies. By answering his ‘9 questions’, students were able to develop great strategies and come up with great campaigns.
Although a lot of us now have something to work on to put into our book. The few of us who maybe didn’t execute properly, now have the tools to start again, and create two book worthy campaigns.
A big thank you to Stu at Creature who gave up how time on 3 separate occasions! We really appreciate how much time you’ve invested into the 3rd year students!
We will, we will…
Love the welcome sign!
So much great advice
Thanks for the workshop, Stu!
Last week the second years were invited to Lucky Generals’ London offices to present their viral films.
At the workshop organised by senior creative, Eddie Fisher, everyone had the chance to watch each video and receive feedback on where to take it further. Congratulations to Luke and Remi on gaining the most views and George and Lydia for the best creative concept. A big thank you to Eddie – and we love your new offices!
A big thank you to Linda & Alex of Wieden & Kennedy for a fab workshop – who knew you could say so many amazing things about toilet rolls! They were joined by Milo Williams, freelance art director – all 3 are Bucks grads.
The 3rd years all presented some inspired thinking – those books are going to look brilliant!
Linda & Milo – what happened to Alex?

The talented duo, Gina and Freya, graduated from the Creative Advertising course at Bucks in 2015 and were soon snapped up by WCRS.
