Alex Taylor gave her hugely successful Art Direction masterclass to the 3rd years – more frightening (she is one tough cookie) than usual with Alex dressed as a witch, well, it was Halloween!
The Masterclass is a not-to-be missed experience, giving the students an insight into top-level art direction and how to approach it, from a legend within the advertising industry.

When Creative Ad tutor Phil Dearman suggested a Halloween pumpkin carving session to his second year students they jumped at the idea. So after class finished on October 31st, the group brought out their pumpkins, sat down and got creative with knives, spoons and other implements.
When the dark descended, the end results could be seen in all their orange glory. Impressively creative we think you’ll agree and a good way to kick off the evenings entertainments.
Visiting lecturer Kalinda Muloba came in yesterday and spent all day in workshops with second year Creative Ad students. Kalinda is a Coding expert and passed on lots of hot tips and helped students get confident at coding for their college projects. She also gave out prizes for the best efforts, which went down well as you can see!

The Creative Detox contains just about everything we’ve learnt through years of critical observation of our own and others’ creative practice. We took those observations to psychologists, business consultants, creative practitioners and their clients. Then we put it all together in the Creative Detox.

It’s a workshop not just about skills, but about developing a mindset that welcomes the unexpected and thrives on being in the moment. Whether you work in the creative industries or not, it will widen your comfort zone and you will surprise yourself. We promise.
Everyone gets to have a go and put ideas into practice, but nobody is put on the spot in an embarrassing way. Introverts have nothing to fear here. We’ll just ask you to keep an open mind and be interested in what happens.
